While the sagging, loose skin that forms along the jawline and neck are a normal part of the aging process, these changes are often frustrating. Coupled with the effects of sun damage, weight fluctuations, hormonal changes, and genetic disposition, these early signs of aging may be intensified. Fortunately, the Boston Center for Facial Rejuvenation offers ThermiTight, an effective, minimally invasive treatment designed to improve the appearance of lax skin and isolated pockets of fatty tissue.
Developed by renowned plastic surgeon, Dr. Leonard Miller, ThermiTight is one of the most powerful, nonsurgical skin tightening techniques available. Utilizing radiofrequency energy, ThermiTight heats the deepest layers of tissue, naturally tightening lax skin around the neck, jowls, lower face, and even targeted areas of the body such as the arms or abdomen. As the founder of ThermiTight’s original temperature controlled capabilities, and one of the country’s most experienced treatment providers, Dr. Miller can safely help patients achieve a tighter and more youthful appearance, without the need for a surgical facelift.

The Ideal Thermitight Candidate
ThermiTight is a great option for those people looking to lift and smooth lax skin on their face or neck, but are not ready to commit to the expense or lengthy recovery of a surgical procedure. The ideal candidate will be in overall good health and a nonsmoker. Patients should understand the ThermiTight technique and the recovery process, holding realistic expectations for their final results.
Dr. Miller will assess your skin and tissues during a confidential consultation, determining if ThermiTight could be right for you. While ThermiTight can provide excellent results for many people, those who have severe tissue laxity may require a surgical solution. During your consultation, Dr. Miller will create an individualized treatment plan, including ThermiTight and any additional techniques necessary to achieve the desired results.
The Thermitight Procedure
ThermiTight is an in-office procedure, performed in a comfortable, private room at the Boston Center for Facial Rejuvenation. Depending on the individual patient and the extent of correction needed, each procedure will take about one hour. Most patients find the ThermiTight procedure is easily tolerated and pain-free, although Dr. Miller will begin by administering a local anesthetic, ensuring total comfort.
Several very small and easily-concealed incisions are created along the treatment area. Dr. Miller will begin by placing a very small probe along the targeted area. This probe includes a tiny, state-of-the-art thermal imaging camera, which is used to carefully monitor the amount of radiofrequency energy emitted deep into the tissues. By hitting the desired therapeutic temperature, Dr. Miller can maximize collagen rejuvenation and provide consistent results.
Once in place, the thin ThermiTight wand is gently passed back and forth along the treatment area in a fanning pattern. The wand delivers radiofrequency energy creating the precise, predetermined amount of heat. These bursts of heat energy contract the targeted muscle and skin, helping to melt away small pockets of subdermal fat. The warmth will promote collagen production within the skin, rejuvenating the appearance.
Thermitight Recovery
The ThermiTight treatment causes minimal discomfort, has a low risk for serious complications, and is completely safe for all skin types. As the radiofrequency energy is not applied to the outer layers of skin, the therapeutic warmth will not damage tissues or cause discomfort. Dr. Miller’s ThermiTight procedure is minimally invasive and does not require general anesthesia, so there is little downtime necessary. To ensure proper healing and optimal results, patients may be required to wear a surgical garment or elastic band for the first 24 to 48 hours. Immediately after treatment, patients may note mild swelling, bruising, and tenderness. However, these side-effects will quickly fade. In just a few days, most patients are back to work, school, and their daily routine.
Thermitight Results
A single ThermiTight session is normally all that is needed to achieve tighter, smoother skin along targeted areas of the face, neck, and body. While some patients may immediately note mild benefits from ThermiTight, noticeable results will take from three to four weeks to appear. As the body’s collagen supply increases, and the tissues tighten, the benefits from one ThermiTight treatment can continue to improve for up to a full year. Although the results will vary according to the individual, natural-looking benefits from ThermiTight can last from three to five years, sometimes longer.
The Cost Of Thermitight
The exact cost of each ThermiTight treatment will depend on the targeted area and extent of correction. I am so fortunate to have met Dr. Miller and his staff. I went to him for a consultation to “freshen up” my look with minimally invasive procedures and down time. He recommended a targeted procedure that he invented, ThermiTight RF as well as chin liposuction and a small amount of fat transfer in the lower face/jowl area.. I highly recommend Dr. Miller and his staff for any cosmetic or aesthetician services and plan on consulting with him before looking elsewhere.
