The Clear + Brilliant procedure

Before undergoing a Clear + Brilliant treatment at Boston Center for Plastic Surgery, you'll have a one-on-one consultation with one of our cosmetic dermatologists.

Your provider will evaluate your facial tissues during this consultation and explain various skin rejuvenation options. If Clear + Brilliant is the best choice for your aesthetic goals, a personalized treatment plan will be created.

During the treatment, the Clear + Brilliant applicator is passed over the predetermined area, emitting quick, concentrated pulses of laser energy. This creates a series of very small columns of heat throughout the skin, stimulating new cell growth and increasing the body's natural production of collagen. While the treatment is generally not painful, a topical anesthetic or numbing cream is applied to ensure your comfort. Most patients describe the treatment as mild, feeling only a warm, prickling heat. After the session, a cooling agent is applied to the treated tissue to enhance comfort.

What is the recovery?

There is no downtime required after a Clear + Brilliant session. Most patients can return to their regular activities the same afternoon. Initially, the treated skin may be dry and slightly red, but this typically resolves within 24 hours. Some mild swelling may also occur but will fade quickly.

When will I see results from Clear + Brilliant?

While some patients may see immediate improvement in the treated skin, optimal results usually require between four and six sessions spaced about four weeks apart.
