Restylane at the Boston Center for Facial Rejuvenation
Over the years, our tissues naturally lose the youthful stores of fat and collagen needed for plump, smooth skin. As this process occurs, we may begin to see the development of sagging skin, fine lines, and deep wrinkles. Sun damage, smoking, weight fluctuations, and genetics accelerate these changes. While expensive over the counter creams and lotions can do little to improve these early signs of ageing, the Boston Center for Facial Rejuvenation offers patients a fast, noninvasive way to turn back the clock: Restylane®.
What is Restylane?
Restylane® is a safe and effective dermal filler, approved by the Food and Drug Administration to add volume to the tissues and plump facial line. The injectable is useful in helping patients achieve a healthier, rejuvenated, more youthful look. Created using hyaluronic acid (HA), Restylane® naturally binds to the water within the skin. Similar to a sponge, the HA will absorb the moisture, expanding and creating a fuller foundation for the skin. The result is a smooth, beautiful, and healthy complexion that lasts for months. Restylane® ® is also approved by the FDA as a trusted treatment for restoring shape and fullness to the lips.
Restylane® will:
- Ease deep facial lines
- Improve fine wrinkles
- Eliminate acne scars
- Plump the lips
- Camouflage puffiness under the eyes
- Restore facial volume and shape
- Establish facial symmetry
- Improve fine line around the mouth and cheeks
The Ideal Candidate For Restylane
Almost anyone frustrated with fine lines, deep creases, and the loss of facial volume associated with early aging can make an excellent candidate for Restylane®. Prospective patients should be in overall good health and have realistic expectations for their treatment results. Restylane® is safe for all skin types and ethnicities.
Prior to scheduling a Restylane® session, patients will have a consultation with Dr. Leonard Miller and his aesthetician. At this time, they will perform a brief skin evaluation, review medical history, and go over current medications. Dr. Miller will explain the dermal filler treatment process and what can be expected from the results. Before and after photographs of Dr. Miller’s recent patients will help to create a visualization of the potential benefits of treatment. If Restylane® is determined to be the right treatment to achieve the patient’s desired goals, a personalized treatment plan will be created.
Restylane Treatment And Results
Restylane® injections are performed in a private treatment room at the Boston Center for Facial Rejuvenation. Each session will take less than have an hour. Injected directly under the skin using an ultra-fine needle, Restylane® is not considered painful. The injectables is premixed with lidocaine, a topical anesthetic, which numbs the treatment area during application. Additional topical or local numbing agents are available, by request.
Restylane® does not require any downtime, making the injectable great for a ‘lunch-time’ lift. Patients are back to their normal activities right after treatment, including work, school, and exercise. It is important that patients do not rub or manipulate the treatment area for the first three days after treatment, so as not to disperse the Restylane® into surrounding tissues.
Redness, tenderness, and bruising are common along the treatment area, but quickly fade. More serious complications, such as scarring, infection, nerve damage, or facial asymmetry are rare. The benefits of Restylane® can be seen immediately. As Restylane® kick-starts the body’s natural production of collagen, these benefits will continue to improve. Results can last for six to nine months, before a repeat Restylane® session is necessary.
Dr. Leonard Miller has extensive experience with facial rejuvenation, and his noninvasive treatments are among the safest available in New England. During the consultation appointment, Dr. Miller and his esthetician may recommend additional treatments to compliment the benefits of Restylane®, including Botox and advanced laser treatments, which can provide optimal improvements.
The Cost Of A Restylane Treatment
The price of an individual Restylane® session will depend on several factors, including the treatment area and the level of correction. During the consultation appointment, the exact cost of treatment will be established. For patient convenience, the Boston Center for Facial Rejuvenation accepts cash and all major credit cards. I’ve been going to Doctor Miller for several years and he’s really helped keep my aging at bay with botox and fillers. Dr. Miller is extremely careful and conservative in his approach and he’ll never push you to do more than you’d like and has, in fact, discouraged me from trying more invasive fixes. He’s very ethical and professional and while you’ll always leave looking better than when you came, you’ll still look like you. I could not recommend him more highly.
