Belotero at the Boston Center for Facial Rejuvenation
Over time, the delicate tissues of the face will begin to lose elasticity, creating fine line and creases around the eyes and mouth. Not only do these changes give away the age, they can even make the face look tired, angry, or unhappy. Years of sun-damage, stress, weight fluctuations, and genetics only exacerbate these changes, depleting the natural stores of fat and collagen. As facial volume diminishes, the areas below the eyes and along the cheeks may begin to look dark, hollow, and sunken; adding years onto the appearance. Over-the-counter creams, lotions, and serums do little to restore taut, youthful facial tissues.
Luckily, Dr. Leonard Miller and the Boston Center for Facial Rejuvenation has a solution for those patients experiencing the early signs of aging: Belotero. One of the newest and most effective dermal fillers available today, Belotero can restore a youthful, lifted appearance with a quick, in-office treatment. The injectable takes only minutes to apply and holds little chance for side-effects. The dramatic results from Belotero can last for up to nine months.
WHAT IS BELOTERO?
Belotero is a Food and Drug Administration-approved dermal filler, made from Hyaluronic Acid (HA). A naturally occurring substance, HA safely encourages the body’s own production of Collagen to provide long-lasting results. The innovative dermal filler can significantly improve fine lines around the eyes and mouth, plump tissues, and restore volume to ‘hollow’ areas along the cheeks. One treatment with Belotero can restore healthy facial contours for up to nine months. Although some of Belotero’s benefits can be seen immediately after application, as the body’s Collagen supply is replenished, the results will continue to improve.
Belotero can help improve:
- Moderate to severe facial wrinkles
- Crow’s Feet
- Nasolabial Folds
- Marionette Lines
- ‘Hollow’ areas below the eyes
- Sunken cheekbones
- Lip Lines
The Ideal Candidate for Belotero
Anyone noticing the appearance of fine lines around the eyes and mouth, or a loss of volume across the cheeks, may benefit from Belotero. The innovative dermal filler is safe for men and women, of all skin type or ethnicity. The ideal patient will be in overall good health, understand the dermal filler process, and hold reasonable expectations for their final results. Those with an active infection, rash, or cold sore may need to put off their Belotero session until the skin has cleared. During the consultation appointment, Dr. Miller will closely examine facial tissues, and meticulously review each patient’s medical history, to determine if Belotero is the right choice for achieving the desired results.
Belotero Injections and Results
At the Boston Center for Facial Rejuvenation, each Belotero treatment is performed in a comfortable treatment room, taking less than half an hour. Once Dr. Miller has determined the target treatment area, the Belotero is administered using a small needle. While the filler is not considered painful, it is common to feel a pinch or pressure during each injection. For added comfort, a topical or local anesthetic may be used.
No downtime is required after a Belotero session. Patients are able to return to work, school, and all daily activities right away. While mild redness, swelling, and bruising may be seen along the injection site, these side-effects will quickly resolve. Tenderness and itching are also common. More serious complications are rare, although infection, facial asymmetry, and scarring can occur.
Immediately after treatment, the skin will look lifted and smooth. However, it can take two to three weeks for the full benefits of Belotero to become apparent. As the body’s supply of collagen gets an added boost, the results will continue to improve. Then, after six to nine months, the benefits of treatment will begin to fade. At this time, patients can safely choose a repeat Belotero session to maintain their results.
The Cost of Belotero
The cost of Belotero will depend on each individual’s needs. During the consultation appointment, Dr. Miller will determine the exact treatment area and the extent of correction needed. At this time, Dr. Miller will create a personalized Belotero treatment plan and establish the cost of injections. While the Boston Center for Facial Rejuvenation does not take insurance, we do accept cash and all major credit cards. To make each treatment more accessible, we offer medical financing through Prosper Healthcare Lending.
